The Educational Building Society (EBS) was taken into state ownership through absorption into AIB on 1 July 2011. In 2017, the Shareholding and Financial Advisory Division (SFAD) planned and implemented an Initial Public Offering (IPO) of a portion of the State’s shares in AIB, listing the stock on the premium segment of the Irish and London stock exchanges.
